Cinco de Mayo

Fort Madison is gearing up for a festive and family-friendly Cinco de Mayo celebration on Sunday, May 5, in the Kingsley Inn Courtyard. This first-ever city-wide event will feature live music, authentic Mexican cuisine, and fun activities for all ages.

  • Time: 2:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

  • Live Music: The Brotherhood, performing from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

  • La Fiesta Dance Troupe: Performance at 4:30 p.m.

  • Food Vendors: Garcia’s Scratch Kitchen, Denise’s Enchiladas, Reza Jalapeno Express, Richard Gonzales Street Tacos - serving from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

  • Family Activities: Bounce house, balloon artist, Nerf axe throwing, cotton candy, snow cones, pinatas, characture artist, and photo props!

  • Beverages: Available in the courtyard and inside at River Rocks

To accommodate the celebration, 7th Street from Avenue H to the Connection Bank exit will be closed. Parking is available at the Connection Bank lot (entrance from 6th Street), Pen City parking lot (8th Street), and along Avenue G.

This event is a celebration of Fort Madison’s rich Mexican heritage. As Iowa’s oldest Mexican community, the city will also host its 104th annual Mexican Fiesta from September 11-13 in the historic Mexican Village.
