Volunteer opportunities in Fort Madison. Volunteers at fishing tournament, depot desk and greeting Amtrak.

The Fort Madison Tourism Office is on the lookout for enthusiastic volunteers to join our team! Here’s how you can get involved:

Event Assistance: Support local events such as fishing and disc golf tournaments, festivals, markets, and more. Your involvement will help make these events a success.

Depot Desk: Aid visitors at the Amtrak Depot by answering questions, handing out brochures, and greeting Amtrak passengers. Shifts vary with the Amtrak schedule, typically on weekends from 9:30 AM to 2 PM and 5 to 7 PM. We also need extra help during Labor Day Weekend and Rodeo Week.

Greeters: Welcome Amtrak riders during their brief stop at the depot. Share information about our community, assist with photos in front of the caboose, and join in waving goodbye to our visitors. We’re also looking for groups who want to be featured on our online train cam—youth groups, sports teams, event participants, and daycares are all welcome to join in the fun during the wave!
