"The Importance of Being Earnest" by Oscar Wilde

Oscar Wilde’s beloved masterpiece is a whirlwind of mistaken identities, secret engagements, and pretentious socialites. The Old Fort Players invite you to a fast-paced romp through Victorian high society where the only thing taken seriously is style.

Two dashing bachelors, Jack and Algernon, have both created alter egos named "Ernest" to escape their tiresome social obligations. But the plan backfires when they fall in love with the sophisticated Gwendolen and the precocious Cecily, two women who swear they can only love a man of that name.

As the lies begin to unravel, the boys must contend with sharp tongues, sharper wit, and the terrifyingly iconic Lady Bracknell. Chaos inevitably ensues, and this sparkling satire proves that being "Earnest" is much harder than it looks.
